Minimum reader-copy consistency check
Before each release, PAMCo runs a series of validation checks on print readership estimates. One of these checks compares readership estimates against independently supplied, verified circulation figures (ABC-certified, where available).
Where a title’s readership estimate falls below its verified circulation figure, PAMCo adjusts the published estimate up to circulation level.
The rule applies consistently across eligible titles, but it will only result in an adjustment where a title’s readership estimate is lower than its verified circulation figure. Because this situation is expected to arise only rarely, adjustments will be made only where needed for individual titles, rather than across all titles.
The methodology was reviewed and agreed by the PAMCo Technical Committee, effective August 2026.
This is not a new metric, and PAMCo does not publish readers-per-copy or circulation data.
